Antique Victorian Mexican Sterling Silver Amethyst Brooch or Sash Pin With Tube Hinge and Double C ClaspThis exquisite antique is elegant and mysterious like fine old wine. With this type of fastener, it is clearly very old, an the double pins tell me it is not a typical brooch. Sashes were very popular in the Victorian era and I am inclined to guess this was a sash clip. Any jewelry historians out there who want to weigh in?In either case, this beauty is a great find and can still be used in a number of ways today. Measurements: 2 5/8" L x 7/8" W x 3/8" D10.6 gCondition: Excellent antique condition. Amethyst appears undamaged. Patina is irregular. Hinge and clasp appear to be well secured and prongs have spring to them. No noticed blemishes or damage. Normal wear for age. Please see all photos.
