VTG OLD PAWN NATIVE AMERICAN HAND MINED BLUE/GREEN TURQUOISE NUGGET NECKLACE. THE TURQUOISE COLOR IS RICH & BEAUTIFUL. THIS IS A GORGEOUS OLD, HUGE TURQUOISE NUGGET NECKLACE. TRUE STORY… A NATIVE AMERICAN WOMAN LOVED TO MAKE JEWELRY W WHATEVER LAY AT HAND. WHEN SHE CAME UPON THIS FAMILY HEIRLOOM (PASSED DOWN FROM HER GRANDMOTHER WHO WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO RETRIEVE IT FROM THE PAWN SHOP) SHE NOTICED WHILE IT WAS STUNNING TURQUOISE—& I MEAN STUNNING… THE LARGEST TURQUOISE STONE MEASURES 15/16”L & 5/8”W…. SHE REALIZED THE TURQUOISE BEADS HAD BEEN HAND DRILLED—BUT THE SILVER WASN’T STERLING (it was likely all the original artist could afford at the time). SO SHE REPLACED THE ORIGINAL BEADS W HANDMADE STERLING SILVER BENCH MADE BEADS—BUT TO HONOR THE ARTIST-SHE REPLACED THE ORIGINAL CONES, HOOK & EYE. And I’m assuming it’s a true story because my earth magnet ONLY responds to the cones, hook & eye, & who would make up such a story?THE NECKLACE WEIGHS APPROX 70 GRAMS & is 18”-20” LONG.
