Marks up easily, but the scratches can be rubbed off. This notebook is intended specifically for the A6 Hobonichi 5-Year. Rowena at Sojourner is exacting in her measurements, so it fits the 5-Year *like a glove*. I do not recommend purchasing this with another notebook in mind for this reason. I have included a photo of the cover holding my 5-Year journal for reference (last photo). This cover briefly held my journal and never left my desk. It is in pristine condition. Retails for 110.
