VINTAGE 90s EMILIA CASTILLO MEXICAN SILVER PLATE HAMMERED LADLE TURQUOISE PARROT

This rare ladle is truly a work of art by an artist whose work has been sold at such luxury stores as Neiman Marcus! Purchased directly at the artist´s studio in Taxco, Mexico, in about 1990. One owner.By Emilia Castillo, handmade in Mexico. Beautifully crafted hammered finish silver plate ladle with a parrot perched on the handle´s top. The 3-D parrot is made of inlaid turquoise stone with a bronze beak and onyx eyes.The piece measures 14 1/2 inches total length, ladle bowl is 3 5/8 inches wide and 2 inches deep, handle width is 1 1/4 inches at its widest (at the top). Very heavy and substantial weighing in at 294 grams (10.4 oz)This was never used--only on display and admired as an art piece in the dining room. I polished this by hand so it shows light patina, but if you wish for it to look flawless you can buff it--I´ll leave that up to you. My home is smoke free.
