During the 1970’s the United States Bureau of Engraving & Printing ran into a problem, they needed a better printing press to use to print the 1 & 5 notes. Their solution was to purchase a printing press from Germany known as a Giori Press. It was used to test the design of the 1 and 5 notes for circulation.
